Promoting diversity is one of the key points to the University of La Verne's community. It is a promise that ULV has greatly kept this past year by including a variety of speakers on cultural and social issues.
Palden Gyatso, a Tibetan Buddhist monk who has spent 33 years in Chinese captivity, came to the University of La Verne last Thursday to heighten awareness about Tibet's plight and the atrocities he insists the Chinese are committing against the Tibetan people.
