Finding that special someone was made easier for people from college age to middle-age when Vondie Lozano, a licensed marriage and family therapist and part-time instructor at ULV, held a lecture titled “Finding Real Love: Trick or Treat,” on Oct. 19.

In Cynthia Lennon’s book, “John,” which hit bookstores this week marking 25 years since John Lennon’s assassination, Julian, Lennon’s son, describes his father as a man that advocated peace and love to the world but found it difficult to show that same peace and love to his first family.

Love is definitely over-rated. And before you roll your eyes and groan, "Great, not another 'complain about your relationship column'," I ask you to hear me out (especially to those of you who have been telling me to lighten up my pep talks).

OK, ladies and jelly spoons, it is time to wax personal. For those of you who know me, you may already be aware of this.

I was thrilled to read the opinions page in last week's paper. The article that caught my attention was Erica Paal's "Acceptance crucial to true love."

What is it to be in love? Everyone around me seems to think that they have it figured out. Not only do they seem to have it figured out, they seem to think that I need to hop on the happy-go-lucky wagon with them.
