Students from the photography classes at the University of La Verne were busy preparing the Irene Carlson Gallery last week with their best photographs for a photo exhibition, which opened on Monday.

With the cost of tuition climbing each year, it is no big shocker that college students are finding extreme alternatives to earn extra cash.

As spectators walked down the stairs of Miller Hall, an image of haunting beauty leveled with their gaze. An American flag with a feather’s silhouette underneath it introduced them to a progressing world that contains an unforgettable past.

Despite low turnout rates, the University of La Verne’s orientation on Sept. 2 and 3 was a success. Although 550 new students were expected, only 380 checked in.
