In a game that was close to being cancelled due to local fires, rushing was the name of the game, as Azusa Pacific University easily handed the Leopards their sixth straight loss behind 163 yards rushing and four touchdowns from tailback Ben Buys as well as defensive domination for the 42-0 shutout in front of 3,100 fans at Cougar Stadium, Saturday night.
In front of more than 500 fans at Ortmayer Stadium, the University of La Verne football team earned its first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win in two years Saturday as the Leopards defeated Occidental College, 24-22.
Last spring, Chi Delta Omicron was an idea in the works. This fall it has been recognized as a campus organization at the University of La Verne, and if things go as planned, by next spring it will be officially recognized as a fraternity in the Greek community.
