With the end of summer and the beginning of the fall semester, the University of La Verne has a number of new faces on campus, which includes personnel changes in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Student Affairs Department.

A weekend full of centennial activities begins at 10:30 a.m. today with Pulitzer prize winner Dr. Leonard Levy serving as guest speaker at the all-school convocation in Founders Hall Auditorium.

Trendy clothes ,and flashy styles will be modeled by ULV students during the Black Student Union (BSU) "Fashion Intrigue" show in Founders Auditorium at 7:30 this evening. Tickets are $4 for general admission, $3 for faculty and students, and $2 for children under 12. Tickets can be bought at the door.

If a team cannot seem to catch the "winning train" as it rolls its way, then it can just enjoy itself waiting for a ride. That is the attitude of the Univer­sity of La Verne men's tennis team.

The men's tennis team, supporting a 0-6 record, went into Tuesday's match against Caltech with nothing to lose. But it did just that, lowering its record to 0-7 and 0-5 in conference play.

"La Verne is what you make it, and I'm learning to make it a hell of a lot better for myself," said Renee Sattiewhite, a junior at the Universi­ty of La Verne.
