After finishing third in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) the last two seasons and narrowly missing the playoffs last year, the University of La Verne men's basketball team (10-4, 14-11 overall) begins its season tonight with a group of players with limited collegiate experience.
Testing both their physical and mental limits, University of La Verne seniors Matt Durant and Ryan Burchfield have begun new hobbies, running triathlons and marathons, respectively.
