University of La Verne students gathered in Founders Auditorium last Tuesday to be recognized by what Dr. William Cook, vice president of academic affairs, called "an Academic Awards Night celebration."
Thirty-two was the magic number for students from the University of La Verne Communications Department at the 50th Annual California Intercollegiate Press Association (CIPA) convention hosted by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo last weekend.
The spring 1997 issue of La Verne Magazine, entitled "The Latino Community in La Verne: Struggles, Progress and Success," received second place for General Excellence from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), in the western region of the United States.
The University of La Verne Communications Department was recently awarded at the 49th annual California Intercollegiate Press Association (CIPA) awards, held April 17-19. The event was hosted by University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
