Students had to take turns to accept the many awards announced at the Inland Southern California Society of Professional Journalists 2007 Excellence in Journalism Awards on Saturday.

Historically speaking, we car enthusiasts haven’t exactly gotten most business owners tripping all over themselves to better cater to our literary interests. In fact, Autobooks-Aerobooks is the only known bookstore in the United States that specializes in automotive titles.

Spunk and enthusiasm are on next semester’s agenda as senior journalism majors Tom Anderson and Katherine Hillier were chosen as the new editors-in-chief for the Campus Times newspaper and the La Verne Magazine, respectively.

Many students and faculty first learned of recent changes in La Verne parking when they received tickets during the first days back from summer break.

University of La Verne journalists cleaned up – capturing numerous top awards including second place in the “Best Newspaper” category, first place for “Best Magazine,” and first and second place for “Best TV Feature Segment,” 2005 – in a regional Society of Professional Journalist contest last week.

It seems that at the end of every semester we all agree on one thing: Time really flies by.
