Taking diversity to next level

In a nation so diverse, not only in cultures, but also in age, social class and sexual orientation, the skills to deal with other people's differences are vital. A university setting should be ideal to foster not only academics, but also knowledge about each other.

“Live it. Love it. La Verne,” proved to be a suitable theme for Orientation ‘95, as freshman and transfer students got a taste of ULV for the first time through Playfair, People to People and Pilgrim Pines.

University 100 class tackles new cultures

Like any typical University 100 class, the students who meet Tuesdays and Fridays in Room 112 in Miller Hall discuss topics that range from time management to homesickness to finding a niche in the ULV community. But unlike other University 100 classes, these students are all international students who not only have to adjust to college life, but to college life in a new country and a new culture.
