I have never liked the idea of asking for gifts. I used to hate to make Christmas lists for Santa because I always felt like I was begging.

Most college students cannot wait until spring break finally arrives. They get one full week to relax, party at exotic locations and just forget about their worries.

Surprise, surprise. Thanks to some ridiculous schedule conflicts and mix-ups, it looks like I’m back for one more semester of the Campus Times. Sorry to stir things up with my sappy goodbyes last semester, but good ol’ Valerie is back. Lucky you.

For the last few weeks, I have been waging a war against myself that seems almost hopeless. I have battled with objects that I hold closest to my heart. I have set a goal for myself that, at this point, seems unattainable.

I have already began collecting all of the receipts that I get my hands on in a little notebook I purchased some time ago. I have written down every price quote I get from sales representatives via telephone. I have drawn out invitation plans, studied Martha Stewart’s tips and contacted some bands about possible performances. I have dreamt up dress designs, drooled over cake pictures and debated over the necessity of an open bar.
