The sun was hiding behind the clouds last Saturday, but the women’s soccer team shone brightly by defeating the Whittier Poets, 4-0, finishing the season in third place in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

To kick off the 1994 Homecoming events in true winning spirit, the ULV women’s soccer team completed a historic sweep of Pomona-Pitzer last Saturday. They continued their pace with a 4-1 victory over Claremont on Wednesday, also marking the first season sweep of the Athenas.

The women’s soccer team, fighting for sole possession of second place in SCIAC competition, came out swinging and knocked out Redlands 2-0 Wednesday at Redlands.

Men’s soccer bounces back against top seated Redlands

Just when it looked as if the men’s soccer team was left out at sea without a paddle, they put together an impressive three-game win streak, outscoring their opponents 12-0. Their wins came at the expense of Occidental, Christian Heritage and Cal Tech. Unfortunately, last Saturday at Cal Lutheran, they encountered rough waters, losing to the Kingsmen, 6-0.
