Has there ever been that urge to have dinner with President Stephen Morgan? Dean John Gingrich? How about any of the University of La Verne’s administrators, faculty or staff?

Well, here is the chance. The annual Holiday Dinner, co-sponsored by the Associated Student Federation (ASF) Forum, the Residence Hall Association, the Afrikan-American Student Alliance and the Armenian Student Association, will take place Tuesday, Dec. 12, in the Student Center gym.

A member of La Verne’s administration, faculty, or staff will host each table at the dinner , as well as being responsible for carving the turkey and providing the table’s centerpiece. Seating will begin at 5 p.m., with the dinner starting at 5:30 p.m.

There will be the traditional turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls and dessert, which will be served downstairs after dinner. Also after dinner, there will the traditional lighting of the school Christmas tree, a visit from Santa Claus and a raffle for prizes, including a television.

“We are going to have live entertainment during dinner, and have real snow to play in after dessert,” said dinner co-chair Raymond Garza, a junior.

ASF will be shipping in more than eight tons of simulated snow from the Chino Ice Company, which will cover the entire Quad, for guests to play in.

The dinner is free to all full-time undergraduate students and costs $8.50 for guests.

“This is a great chance for the administration, faculty and staff to celebrate the holidays with the students, and to be able to talk to them in a different environment,” said dinner co-chair Julie Mayer, a junior.
