Bishop visits ULV

Bishop Gabino Zavala, far right visited with faculty and friends during a reception in the President's Dining Room sponsored by campus ministry last Tuesday, Sept. 23. Bishop Zavala serves as the regional pastor for San Bernardino County. Campus Ministry is working on keeping this event a yearly tradition with hopes of monthly visits as well. "I broke my thumb," said junior receiver Andrew Woolsey about his injury. Woolsey became the defender after a Menlo interception jamming his thumb while making a tackle. He is a history major and political science minor and plans to use his degree to teach and coach high school. Woolsey is looking forward to the La Verne's baseball season. / photo by Michael P. ULV gains new Catholic minister

New Campus Catholic Minister Sr. Margaret Devlin is excited about getting to know students and her way around an unfamiliar campus. With her knowledgeable background in campus ministry, Devlin has replaced Elena Cardeña, who left the University of La Verne to work for Our Lady of the Valley, located in Canoga Park.
