Diversity Film

“FAAT-KINE,” the next film in the University of La Verne diversity film and discussion series, will be shown at 7 p.m., tonight in La Fetra Auditorium. The film is about a single mother in Senegal who has been shaped by tribal customs and male prejudice. The film is shown for free.

Faculty Concert

The Reed Gratz Band will perform at 8 p.m., April 8 in Founders Auditorium. Admission is $5 for the public and free for students.

Student Recital

The next student recital in the Spring Concert Series is at 4 p.m., April 10 in Founders Auditorium. Admission is free.

Theatre Festival

The ULV Department of Theatre Arts is hosting a theatre mini-festival at 7:30 p.m., April 7, 8, 9 and 10 in Dailey Theatre. Admission is free.

Movies

“Phone Booth,” featuring Colin Farrell and Forest Whitaker opens today in theaters nationwide. The dramatic film takes place at a single phone booth in New York City. Also in theaters is “A Man Apart,” a drama starring Vin Diesel and “Dysfunktional Family,” a comedy starring Eddie Griffin.

Billboard Charts

Linkin Park’s new album “Meteora” hit stores this week and shot to the top of the charts, knocking rapper 50 Cent out of the top spot, which he held for six weeks. Linkin Park is followed on the top five by Celine Dion, various artists on “Now 12,” 50 Cent and Norah Jones.
