International Festival

The University of La Verne is hosting “Sights, Sounds and Foods from Around the World,” from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., today in Sneaky Park. The festival will feature food, music and costumes from 25 countries.

The Music Department is presenting the “International Festival of the Arts” performance at 8 p.m., tonight in Founders Auditorium.

Faculty Recital

Jacqueline Petitto is performing a faculty recital at 8 p.m., May 1 in Founders Auditorium. Admission is free for students and $5 for the general public.

Guitar Concert

ULV guitar professor Michael Ryan is performing a classical guitar concert during dinner at 7:30 p.m., April 30 at Casa de Salsa. Casa de Salsa is located at 415 W. Foothill Blvd. in Claremont. For more information, call (909) 445-1200.

Movies

The crime thriller “Confidence” hits theaters nationwide today. The movie is about a petty criminal who is forced to steal a fortune from a corrupt banker. The movie stars Edward Burns, Dustin Hoffman and Andy Garcia.

Also in theaters are “Identity,” a suspense thriller starring John Cusack, Ray Liotta and Amanda Peet and MTV’s “The Real Cancun,” a reality movie, which features 25 college students who spend spring break in Cancun.
