Commencement 2003

The University of La Verne has lined up an impressive list of speakers for its 2003 graduation ceremonies on May 24-25:

· David Radcliff, director of Brethren Witness, a peace and justice program, will speak at the Baccalaureate Ceremony, held at 3 p.m., May 24, at the La Verne Church of the Brethren.

· Gaddi Vasquez, director of the Peace Corps, will speak at the Undergraduate Ceremony, which begins at 6 p.m., May 24 at Ortmayer Stadium. Vasquez, who has served on the Orange County Board of Supervisors, was appointed in 2001 by President Bush to his current post.

· Mary Catherine Swanson, director of Advancement Via Individual Determination, will speak at the Graduate Ceremony, 9:30 a.m., May 25 at Ortmayer Stadium.

· And U.S. Rep. David Dreier, R-La Verne, will speak at the ULV College of Law Hooding and Commencement Ceremony, at 2 p.m., May 25 at the Church of the Brethren.

University will hold in-person commencement event in June

University of La Verne officials announced late Wednesday that the University has shifted gears and is now planning to hold in-person graduation ceremonies in mid-to-late June at an off-campus venue to be determined.
