Author Peter Frost will speak about his most recent book “Toxic Emotions at Work: How Compassionate Managers Handle Pain and Conflict” at 6:30 p.m. on April 7 in La Fetra Auditorium.
Frost will speak about the impact of different emotions in the workplace.
“In a nutshell, I talk about how toxic pain disconnects people from their work and impacts on their well-being,” Frost said.
He will also discuss how the work environment relies on the roles of leaders to turn it from a toxic environment to one of healthy productivity.
Frost is a professor at the University of British Columbia in Canada.
Frost has given talks on his books in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, China and Australia.
“I am delighted to be coming to La Verne to meet the community and to discuss the book,” he said.
The lecture is part of the “Coffee, Cake, and Conversation” series sponsored by the masters program in leadership and management.
The MSLM has brought 40 different scholars and authors to ULV.
“(The series brings) interesting people with interesting stories,” said Carol Sawyer, a professor of organizational leadership, “a great way for people to learn.”
