Students make their own air fresheners

Housing hosted an air freshener night for which students got to make their own air fresheners on Nov. 26, using essential oils smelling like lavender, coconut, vanilla and pumpkin spice.

About 30 students showed up to the event, which took place in Citrus Hall, including a station where participants could combine different essential oils to create custom scents to hang in their dorm rooms or take home.

“It was cool to see how we can make our own air fresheners,” said Benjamin Alvarado, freshman criminology major.

In addition to encouraging creativity and well being, the event was social.

“Making an air freshener made my room smell better,” Marquese Boone, freshman computer science major, said. “Being a college athlete, my room smells, so making an air freshener helped out a lot.”
