Dear Editor,
Upon reading this week’s Campus Times, I noticed that there was a library barcoding story—again. Just last semester as a Campus Times staff writer, I was assigned that very same story. Nothing seems to have changed in regards to LEOpac, so why the repetitive story? This is not to criticize Jennifer Phillips’ excellent coverage of the system, and I am gathering that she probably had no control over her assignment. But wasn’t thought given before assigning this story or even before bringing it to the staff meetings as an idea? This “news” has already been reported. Campus Times, please don’t underestimate the memory or intelligence of your readers, whether they be former staff members or not. A small suggestion would be to keep up-to-date every once in a while with all those back issues kept in the department so as not to bore us all.
