Spotlight Weekend offers a glimpse of ULV

Leos go barefoot for a good cause

The Campus Activities Board sponsored “One Day Without Shoes” on Tuesday. The event was created by footwear company TOMS Shoes to promote awareness for less fortunate children who cannot afford shoes.

Open mic lets students express emotion

Snaps, daps and roaring cheers filled Dailey Theatre on Tuesday evening for an open mic night hosted by the members of the Black Student Union. Around 70 students and outside supporters filled the building to experience the talents of more than 20 poets, singers and even a beat-boxer, all accomplished in their own right.

Singles take back Valentine’s Day

Singles were able to toss away their worries of being alone and having no plans on Valentine’s Day because Singles Awareness Day, an event held by the Campus Activities Board.Organizers gave single students a chance to celebrate themselves and feel involved on the predominantly couple-oriented holiday.

Comedy show welcomes students back to campus

Comedians Mal Hall and Jonny Loquasto were the bearers of jokes, performing in front of about 100 La Verne students last Tuesday for the first comedy show of the year.
