University of La Verne President Devorah Lieberman on Monday announced the resignation of Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management Mary Aguayo, effective Jan. 3 next year.

The Haven in Pomona showcased The Jins, All Hollows, and Rivers Ventura – all small bands coming together through their passion for playing indie rock music – on Sunday night before a full house. 

Eric Bishop, a University of La Verne alumnus, who also held several positions at La Verne – including associate dean of academic advising, journalism professor and Campus Times adviser – was recently appointed president of Ohlone Community College in Fremont, California. He starts July 6. 

The hyperpop duo 100 gecs brought a new, intoxicating stage presence to the Glass House in Pomona at their April 14 show. 100 gecs’ performance was a stimulating mix of genres like electronica, pop and synthcore that I have never seen before at this venue.

The Mission Tiki Drive-In Theatre could be showing some of its final films this year. Although nothing has been approved yet, the city of Montclair has been dealing with a proposal to tear the theater down to make space for several warehouses. 

The Luchador Urban Taqueria Bar and Kitchen has reopened late last month in a new location at 184 W. 3rd St. in downtown Pomona.
