Daniel Loera favors a diverse student body

As multicultural affairs director at the University of La Verne, Daniel Loera has devoted most of his professional life to educating students about the importance of diversity. In a recent interview he discussed why he displays his high school diploma, how entering the seminary liberated him and why college is not about discovering ourselves, but others.

Commentary: There’s an app for that?

Anyone who has an Android or an iPhone can agree they are either addicted to or enjoy downloading applications to help pass the time. These applications, which can be downloaded for free with the occasional advertisement interrupting your play, are a big reason behind the purchase of these types of phones. But honestly, is there a need for an app for absolutely everything?

Commentary: Policies need to be enforced

Laws, policies and rules are made everywhere to make those involved safe. They are at companies, in countries and even at the University of La Verne.

University names Devorah Lieberman as 18th president

Devorah A. Lieberman will be the University of La Verne’s 18th president, starting July 1, 2011. She will be the University’s first woman president, replacing Steve Morgan, who has held the position for 26 years.
