Leos lit up the night Wednesday in the Campus Center Ballroom for the event put on by the Campus Activities Board. 

The first several weeks of the academic year is often referred to as the Red Zone, a period of time between move-in day and Thanksgiving break when college students – first year students and women in particular –  are most likely to experience sexual assault.

A new Mexican restaurant, La Casa De La Abuela, opened recently in Pomona about two miles from La Verne, at 401 E. Foothill Blvd. 

The exhibits “In Their Hands: The Evolution of Mata Ortiz Pottery,” “Hot and Ready to Serve,”  and “Making In Between: Indigenous Americans,” all currently on display at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, range from utilitarian ceramics to sculptures that make a political statement. 

Dr. Iraj Parchamazad, professor emeritus of chemistry at the University of La Verne, died on June 4 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was 86, and he had suffered from Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership hosted an ice cream social Tuesday on the Ludwick Center Lawn.
