All UCs will no longer consider SAT or ACT test scores when making admissions decisions or awarding scholarships. This is a good move for many reasons.
In 2021 the University of La Verne will go to a test-optional admissions policy, which means that applicants will have a choice of including their SAT or ACT test scores along with their applications – or not.
This week the Faculty Senate voted to support a test-optional admission policy, under which students applying to the University would no longer be required to submit their SAT or ACT scores with their applications.
The University of California freshman admissions requirements are finally taking baby steps in the right direction by not requiring the SAT subject tests as necessary for admission by many UCs.
