The softball team earned its spot in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Con­ference Postseason Tournament by winning a doubleheader over Pomona-Pitzer April 19 at Wheeler Park. La Verne took the first game, 6-1, and the second game, 3-2.

Emotions and the score ran high for the Leopard seniors Monday, as the women’s basketball team beat Pomona- Pitzer on senior night, 111-69.

Defense helps Leopards hold off charging Athenas

La Verne played a tight defensive game Saturday at Claremont Mudd-Scripps. The Leopards led the game by 14 points until the Athenas came back in the second half. La Verne’s defense stood strong and they held on for an 82-77 win.
