Communications Dept. earns honors at CIPA

The University of La Verne Communications Department was recently awarded at the 49th annual California Intercollegiate Press Association (CIPA) awards, held April 17-19. The event was hosted by University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Students honored for academics

Every year, each academic department on campus recognizes the top students in its department in the annual Academic Awards night. Tuesday, the University hosted those students and their families in Founders Auditorium for the ceremony.

Times sweeps contest

The Campus Times won the Sweepstakes award at the 48th annual California Intercollegiate Press Association (CIPA) convention last weekend, earning the paper the distinction of being the best weekly college newspaper in the state.

New editors, program director selected

Selections for the Communications Department's student staff positions for the fall semester have been announced. Senior Andrew Alekel will serve as the 1995-96 program director for KULV, junior Rosie Sinapi will be the fall editor of La Verne Magazine and sophomore Amy Borer will be the fall editor of the Campus Times.
