Playing under the bright lights at Memorial Stadium in Whittier, the football team achieved something Saturday that they have not done since head coach Andy Ankeny’s arrival last season.
All of the momentum from La Verne’s Homecoming victory over Pomona-Pitzer was gone by halftime in their game against visiting Occidental last Saturday, as the Leopards went into the locker room trailing, 34-0.
Wanting to end the season on a high note, the La Verne football team tried for another win but lost to Chapman, 31-27, ending the season with a 1-8 overall record.
