Anwar Salimi’s “Last Lecture” on campus this week was titled “Final Exam: Reflections from a Retiring Professor.” 

Alexander Lev-Da-Silva, instructor of modern languages, gave an informative and eye-opening lecture titled “The Effects of Foreign Language Teaching Anxiety on Non-native/Nativelike Teachers” at noon Tuesday in the Quay Davis Executive Boardroom. 

Rick Hasse, accounting and finance instructor, discussed his career as an athlete, businessperson and professor in his lecture titled “From Business Professional to Business Professor,” Tuesday in the Quay Davis Executive Board Room. 

The University of La Verne Society of Accountants will host the annual Academic Awards Banquet in the Campus Center Ballroom Friday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m.

As students we all look forward to the day we can say, “I got a job.” To get the job you want, however, you need to distinguish yourself among all the other people going for the same job. And that is what the University of La Verne’s Society of Accountants aims to do.

With such issues as migrant labor, illegal immigration in the public consciousness, Kenneth Marcus, associate professor of history and director of the International Studies Institute, chose immigration as the theme for this year’s Hot Spots speaker series.
