With the apparent departure of La Verne’s self-proclaimed favorite hillbilly host Billy Bob, played brilliantly by University of La Verne Professor of Communications Don Pollock, the 2006 edition of “Halloween Live!” had a little bit of a different feel this year.
It has not hit me yet, but this week will be the last week I will step into the Arts and Communications Building as a writer, reporter and editor for the Campus Times. Yes, after five semesters on this publication and after seeing my fellow editors move on, my time has finally come to an end.
A full emergency evacuation of students and faculty occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the Art and Communications building, after personnel issued a complaint about a pungent smell coming from the back of the building.
The Communications Department is currently planning a 25th anniversary celebration, and has sent out invitations to virtually all alumni from the department. The event, slated for the evening of March 16, will also celebrate the opening of the new Arts and Communications building, where the department moved last fall.
