The men’s golf team started its conference season off last weekend with a middle of the pack finish at the first two rounds of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at Tukwet Canyon Champions Course in Beaumont.
The La Verne men’s golf team won the Poet Challenge by a close margin of one point under Chapman 312-313. Sophomore Pitiluk Phanomchai, who was recently nominated Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, took first place helping to ensure the win for the Leopards after prevailing through the rain last week.
As she finished her workout with squats, pull, clean and jerk, and snatch, Hailey McCann sat on the floor, deciding if she wanted to go to In-N-Out for a burger with animal fries or to Little Caeser’s for a deep dish pizza.

The Mission Tiki Drive-In Theatre could be showing some of its final films this year. Although nothing has been approved yet, the city of Montclair has been dealing with a proposal to tear the theater down to make space for several warehouses.
