In efforts to meet the needs of graduating students at the University of La Verne, the Career Development Center (CDC) has developed a one-day seminar that offers workshops on a variety of topics.
My roommate received a memorandum from the Registrar's Office on March 20 stating, "As of today, you have not contacted me as to verify your status for participating in the 1998 Commencement Ceremony. You are not cleared to participate at this time. If you plan on walking this May, you need to see me immediately to see what we can do about clearing you."
Today is the last day of school. For seniors, this is possibly the last day of school ever, unless they are going on to graduate school. For juniors this is where the panic begins: will they graduate on time, will all requirements be fulfilled? For sophomores, this is a time to rejoice-they are half way there. And for freshmen, they have survived the first year: the adjustments, the growing up, the making of new college friends and the loss of old high school ones.
