The insurrection that took place on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6 brought chaos and havoc to what already was a tumultuous presidential election. Although Donald Trump was not convicted by the Senate in the resulting impeachment trial, there is no doubt that the former president had major influence over his supporters and the reckless protests that left five people dead and more than 140 injured.

President Donald Trump’s behavior, lying shamelessly, threatening national security brazenly, and disregarding the Constitution and the structure of our government, while he destroys the environment for his own personal gain, may finally be catching up with him. 

President Donald Trump has consistently shown his willingness to obstruct justice, particularly in regard to efforts to investigate possible collusion in Russia. He has violated the Emoluments Clause, as well as the Presidential Records Act of 1978.  For these reasons, Trump should be impeached.

An initial motion to remove current Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff from office has been voted and approved April 17 by the country’s legislators with 367 voting for and 137 against impeachment.

For only the third time in this country's history, Congress has formally begun impeachment hearings on a President. Members of the University of La Verne campus were randomly asked their positions.
