Among the comedy and applause in Wednesday's annual Faculty and Staff Service Awards, held in La Fetra Hall, many University of La Verne staff members were honored.

Dedicating one's self to a job and a career deserves credit and recognition. At colleges and universities, dedicated faculty who take their job seriously have been recognized and are being awarded.

Four University of La Verne faculty members will be granted tenure this fall semester. They are Dr. Glenn Gamst, associate professor of psychology; Dr. Dorena Wright, associate professor of English; Dr. David Kung, associate professor of business administration; and Dr. Kent Badger, associate professor of health services management.

Getting an early start implementing the University-wide strategic plan, the University of La Verne is considering implementing programs throughout Asia.

With all the spirit and enthusiasm normally associated with the Academy Awards, the University presented hon­ors to faculty and staff for their individ­ual service at the annual awards ceremo­ny Wednesday.
