University of La Verne professor of education emeritus Dr. Jim Dunne died Nov. 20 in his home in Sedona, Arizona. He was 87 years old.

University of La Verne’s Librarian Donna Bentley gave her last lecture sharing what impact she wants to leave on the campus and how she is spending her days now that she is retired on Tuesday via Webex with 36 people in attendance.

Lynn Stanton-Riggs, associate provost and professor of education emerita, emphasized the importance of gratitude and vulnerability as she reflected on her career upon entering its newest phase – retirement – during her “Last Lecture,” for the faculty lecture series Tuesday on WebEx.

Professor of Education Marga Madhuri lead the second installment of the spring Faculty Lecture series at noon on Tuesday in the President’s Dining Room to discuss the upcoming “University of La Verne’s Ninth Annual Family Literacy/Math Conference,” taking place on March 22 at the University.

Lynn Stanton-Riggs, associate professor of education, led the faculty lecture on “Parenting and Teaching Our Children” Nov. 19 in the President’s Dining Room.

This semester, University of La Verne students were randomly chosen to take the Learning Strategy and Studying Inventory test.
