The University changed 10 visitor parking spaces into residential spots in response to a petition from the Associated Students of the University of La Verne.
A recent parking change in front of the Campus Center has added 10 desperately needed spots for residents but has also created an issue for prospective students and families interested in visiting the University of La Verne.
A University shuttle bus was struck by a vehicle Thursday at 7:40 a.m. while returning to Shuttle Lot S. The incident occurred while the shuttle driver was on Arrow Highway trying to turn left on to A Street. There were no students or faculty onboard during the crash.
Parking issues are not new to the University of La Verne, but residents should be the last ones to feel the effects of the reduced spots and parking changes made through the fall semester.
After a request from a student survey, the University has installed lockers for commuting students in the Athletics Pavilion to store their daily belongings.
Approximately 60 faculty, administrators and students from the University, members of Bomel Construction and representatives of the City of La Verne City Council attended the new parking structure groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 8 in the area formally known as Lot D.
