Approximately 60 faculty, administrators and students from the University, members of Bomel Construction and representatives of the City of La Verne City Council attended the new parking structure groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 8 in the area formally known as Lot D.

When students came back to school at the end of August, it was clear this year would not be the same. Many Vista La Verne residents have been jolted awake at 7 a.m. by the demolition for the parking structure starting this past week, only to be kept awake by the dawning realization that it is only going to get worse.

Beginning Monday, parking Lot D will be closed until late next year, with commuter students now required to park in the University’s shuttle lots.

With an incoming class of approximately 600 students and new restrictions to on-campus lots, many students are expressing frustration with the University of La Verne’s parking situation

Many of you may have noticed the reserved parking spaces in our crowded parking lots. For $1,500 a year, employees are able to reserve a personal parking spot of their choice.
