University of La Verne seniors are upset about scheduling changes made to this year’s commencement. Ruby Montaño-Cordova, associate dean of student affairs, made these changes without consulting or notifying the graduating class.
In conjunction with a newly revamped constitution and bylaws, the Associated Students Federation Forum will now lead under a new name – ASULV – emphasizing an enhanced organization designed to better represent student interests through advocacy and to encourage two-way communication.
The beginning of October floods minds with images of multi-colored fall leaves, Halloween décor and festivities, and students pouring over open books as midterms approach. However, for those of the Islamic faith, this particular month holds a deeper meaning.
The Associated Student Forum awarded Lordsburg Debate Union a $9,000 grant, which will be used to sponsor the University of La Verne’s debate team in an upcoming competition.
