The University of La Verne debate squad confidently stepped up to the lectern to oppose and support issues including recreational drug use, U.S.exemption from international agreements and political assassination during the U.S. Universities National Championship Tournament.

For three days last month, the ULV debate team – with 60 other teams, including one from Romania – paid a visit to our neighbors in the north to compete in the British Parliament Debate Competition, held at the University of Toronto in Canada.

Students stumbled into La Fetra Auditorium last Thursday to debate the relative merits of ULV’s “dry” campus policy and whether it should go to “wet” instead.

The University of La Verne debate team finished on top in the La Verne Open Debate Championship in La Fetra Hall last Saturday and Sunday.
