Debate finishes 18th at Nationals

The University of La Verne debate team was ranked 18th out of 155 western colleges at the 1997 National Parliamentary Debate Association's National Championship Tournament in Colorado Springs, Co. March 20-23. Colorado College and Regis University co-sponsored the tournament.

Rock defaced; vandals unknown

Red and blue spray paint covered the Rock last Friday. Not in the usual attempt at showing school spirit, however. It was meant to disfigure Sigma Alpha Epsilon's (SAE) previous painting of the Rock which was painted that same night between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Dormitory to house only freshmen

Starting in fall 1997, Brandt Hall will house only freshmen students. In doing so, non-freshmen students who live on-campus will have to live in Stu-Han or the Oaks.
