Leopard football takes another hit

Looking for their first victory of the year, the Leopards played with all their hearts but could not overcome 24 first-half points by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps as well as a crucial non-score late in the game en route to their fourth straight loss, 31-17, Saturday afternoon at Ortmayer Stadium.

Leopards drop game, 28-13, to CLU

Saturday's game might best be described as a tale of two halves. That's exactly what it was as the Leopards looked triumphant in the first half and non-existent in the second, giving up 463 yards of total offense, losing to Cal Lutheran, 28-13 and dropping their third consecutive game of the season in front of an impatient crowd Saturday at Ortmayer Stadium.

Sagehens take game in last quarter

Behind a stellar 43-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Justin Fenchel to receiver Matthew Hermsen, the Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer, playing in their first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game in eight years, spoiled the victory for La Verne in the final minutes of the game to take the 26-23 victory at Merritt Field in Claremont Saturday afternoon.
