After demonstrating strong character and activism over the past year, faculty and students from the University of La Verne, as well as community members, were honored at the third annual Spirit of La Verne Recognition Ceremony, Tuesday at the La Verne Church of the Brethren. Award recipients shared inspirational words of advocacy.
Junior criminology major Abril Camarena was recognized as the 2015 Newman Civic Fellow by the Campus Compact for her dedication and commitment to social activism.
