The La Verne Athletics Association inducted eight athletes and the 1972 NAIA National Championship baseball team into the Hall of Fame Saturday at the Mountain Meadows Golf Course in Pomona.

As a glimmering shine to a season filled with many bright moments, senior track star Stacey Williams could not end her season in a better way than capturing the NCAA Division III National Championship individually in the long jump competition.

The University of La Verne men's and women's track and field teams continued to add athletes for nationals at the Occidental Invitation, but they must wait until Sunday to learn the results of the athletes, who are on a provisional list for nationals.

As dim lights glowed, seductive music enveloped the space where 10 models expressively traveled through dangling sheets of metal. The metal was hung sporadically in the University of La Verne's Art Building Wednesday evening as senior art major Jamie Bigornia displayed his senior art thesis exhibit in a fashion show entitled "Discomfort."

Introduced to a myriad of Shakespeare and theater will be an estimated 25 University of La Verne students, faculty and guests, as they experience the Oregon Shakespeare Festival this summer.

"Good art is not meant to answer questions but to impose questions and engage emotion and thought," said George Stone, associate professor of art.
