Barbershop performs nostalgic tunes

Nostalgia was in the air as students got animated singing “Summer Nights” from the musical “Grease,” among other favorite show tunes Nov. 20 in Morgan Auditorium for “Barbershop on Broadway,” the A Cappella Barbershop Club’s fall concert.

Students shine in intimate recital

As soon as senior criminology major Kolini Coleman sang the last poignant note of Ernest Charles’ “When I Have Sung My Songs,” family and friends sprang from their seats and gave her a standing ovation.

Student recital adds personal flair to classics

Student vocalists and pianists performed a variety of art pieces from songs to arias Friday at the music department’s Fridays at Noon concert series at Morgan Auditorium.

Choir director returns to classroom

Irene Messoloras has performed at the star-studded Carnegie Hall, toured around the world and learned her craft under the great American conductor Robert Shaw. Her journey has led her to the University of La Verne as the new director of choral activities and vocal studies.
