Opera Auditions
Fullerton Civic Light Opera is holding auditions for all positions of a production, for which performers receive pay.
Dancers applying for a position in the opera are expected to be able to sing, if they make the dance audition cut. Director and choreographer Ray Limon will hold the first audition Sunday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m. for all dancers. All other audition times may be found at the location of the first audition, on Sunday. The auditions will be held at the Fullerton Civic Light Opera Building on 218 West Commonwealth Ave., in Fullerton. For information on the scheduling of the auditions, call (714) 526-3832.
‘A Thousand Acres’
“A Thousand Acres” is a film based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning best-selling novel of the same name. The movie stars Michelle Pfeiffer as Rose Cook, Jessica Lange as Ginny Cook, Jason Robards as Larry Cook, and Jennifer Jason Leigh as Caroline Cook. “A Thousand Acres,” presented by Touchstone Pictures, tells the story of a family whose secrets are uprooted when the father of the family, played by Robards, splits his 1,000 acre land among his three daughters. The movie premieres nationwide on Friday, Sept. 19, and is rated R.
