Jazz Concert

Diversity Film

This month’s installment of the “How does our Garden Grow? Films about Diversity”series is “Bhaji on the Beach,” directed by Gurinder Chada. The film starts at 7 p.m. tonight in La Fetra Auditorium. Admission is free.

Getty Center

“Friday Nights at the Getty” presents British singer and songwrtier Julia Fordham. She delivers a moving mix of soul, pop, and R&B. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Harold M. Rodgers and Hammerstein

“The Sound of Music,” the final collaboration between Rodgers and Hammerstein, will crown the Fullerton Civic Light Opera’s 30th anniversary season, starting Oct. 11 and running through Oct. 27 at Plummer Auditorium, 201 East Chapman Ave. in the city of Fullerton. Performances start at 8 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and at 2 p.m. for Sunday matinee with a Sunday evening performance at 7 p.m. Tickets are priced from $16 to $40, for more information, call (714) 879-1732.
