Jury Participation
The ULV College of Law invites students to serve as jury members in three trials that will be held Dec. 1-3. The trials reflect actual cases and are tried by third-year students. Jurors will make verdicts on cases including sexual harassment and a fire insurance claim. Selection is Nov. 24 in the College of Law from 6:30-9 p.m. For information, call ext. 4427.
Gifts for Children
Unwrapped Christmas gifts can be donated to Hillview Acres, a home for abused and neglected children. Gifts can be dropped off in the student mail room. Contact Kristen Rathbun in the mail room at ext. 4519 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a copy of the children’s wish list. Gifts must be donated by Dec. 11, to be received by Christmas.
Lot Construction
Beginning Monday, the dirt parking lot west of the Oaks will be closed for the construction of a new parking lot, part of the Barkley Building construction project. When completed in six weeks, the lot will provide 54 new parking spaces.
Video Awards
Four ULV produced video works were recognized at the just concluded Western Area Video Excellence Awards in Reno Nevada. The senior projects of alumnae Amy Boyle, Andrea Gardner and Julieta Ramirez won awards as well as a video which was produced and directed by Associate Professor of Communications Mike Laponis.
