Paintings by Dion Johnson, the University of La Verne’s director of university art galleries, are currently on display as part of the “Construction Zone” exhibition, opening today at Western Project Gallery in Los Angeles. The exhibition will run through May 15 and will feature pieces portraying abstract fields. The opening reception will be held at 6 p.m. Friday.
Electronic indie and experimental rock will hit the El Rey as Highland Park locals Fol Chen and well-known band Liars perform at 8 p.m. Friday at the El Rey Theater.
