Photo Exhibit
Photographs from “East Side Stories: Gang Life in East L.A.” and “Juvenile” by Joseph Rodriguez will be on display at the Carlson Gallery in Miller Hall. The exhibit runs from Aug. 27 to Oct. 12. Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free.
909 Film Festival
The 909 Film Festival celebrates the work of filmmakers who live and/or produce films in the 909 area code. Six videos produced by University of La Verne filmmakers will screen at the festival. Sunday Music Concert Series
An ensemble led by Professor of Music Reed Gratz will perform a set if jazz standards and new compositions at 6 p.m. Sunday in Morgan Auditorium. Admission is free.
‘Visible’
“Visible” is a group exhibition featuring Los Angeles artist Joe Biel, Patrick Lee, Mark Dean Veca and Eric Yahnker. Veca and Yahnker draw upon pop culture figures to create visual absurdities, while Lee and Biel focus on head shot portraiture. The exhibit begins Monday at the Harris Art Gallery. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. are Monday through Thursday. Admission is free.
Music and Fashion
The D.I.Y Music and Fashion Fest features Stevie Crooks, Curtiss King and others at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Glasshouse in Pomona. Admission is $15. For more information visit theglasshouse.com.
