Emotions rang high for more than 200 students at the University of La Verne College of Law who gathered Wednesdsay for a town hall meeting with Provost Jonathan Reed, where he announced the Board of Trustees’ unanimous decision to pass a resolution to consider closing the law school.

The Campus Times reached a milestone this week – 100 years of serving as a watchdog for not only the University of La Verne but also our local community. Through obstacles, brief hiatuses and award-winning highlights, the paper has established a legacy. And it is a staple of the community. 

The Los Angeles County Fire Department battled flames that destroyed one house and caused the evacuation of 25 nearby homes in the hills above Claremont and La Verne Monday evening.

In honor of Andrew Tompkins, a former University of La Verne diver and business administration major who died of cancer on Sept. 22, the University hosted a celebration of his life Oct. 3 in the Athletics Pavilion.

Metta World Peace, the NBA player formerly known as Ron Artest, shared his struggles with mental illness, while navigating his nearly two-decade professional basketball career, at Pomona College Wednesday.

Andrew Tompkins, a former University of La Verne diver and business administration major, died of cancer on Sept. 22. He was 21.
