Leos sweep Poets, win SCIAC title

The La Verne baseball team won its 21st Southern California Intercollegite Athletic Conference title with a three-game sweep of Whittier last weekend. The Leopards traveled to Whittier Friday to beat the Poets, 9-6. Then the two teams matched up for a doubleheader Saturday at Ben Hines Field, which La Verne swept, 10-4 and 7-6.

Leopards move into tie for 1st place

La Verne baseball used 15 hits to overcome a seven-run deficit to beat Chapman, 12-10, Friday at Ben Hines Field.

Leos sweep Pomona-Pitzer series

Sophomore pitcher Cody Norman and the Leopards’ offense carried La Verne to a 8-0 win against Pomona-Pitzer in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader at Ben Hines Field. La Verne dominated Pomona-Pitzer over the weekend, sweeping the three-game series and taking sole possession of second place in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The game was not looking good for La Verne baseball as they were down 8-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Leopards bedevil Dickinson, 11-6

The baseball team exploded for nine extra-base hits Monday to defeat Dickinson at Ben Hines Field, 11-6.
